A little interview with Mick…

Title: Little House on Wheels

What is your presentation all about? A family of five travelling in a 1985 viscount aerolite caravan on a 3 year trip around Australia. I guess if you’re interested in what’s around the corner and have a desire for travel then this might float your boat?! Come listen to some yarns and gain a small insight into the adventures, surf, mishaps, logistics, personalities, landscapes and possibilities of a family trip around the block.

Who is in it with you? My wife, our three children and myself. Plus some people and places from around Australia.

How would you describe the trip you took? Organised chaos. Never work with animals or children and never do it in a small caravan.

How would you describe your family members? Resourceful, honest, loyal, funny, mad, adventurous and after a few days without a shower… Smelly!

Where did you go? Everywhere except Queensland. You can blame that on the State of Origin.

Who should come see this presentation? Anyone who likes to travel on the cheap or perhaps, people who want to get out and see some of the stuff they don’t put in the brochures.

What do you hope attendees take away from it? Inspiration mainly. Plus, i hope they leave informed and see what is possible for family travel.

What is the message or themes happening in your presentation?Follow your dreams, listen to your heart, ingenuity, being open, resourceful. I guess all the things you learn from travel?

What is one of the highlights you will be sharing? South Sydney winning the 2014 Grand Final (hehe). No, buying land and building an off-the-grid shack.

What is one of the lowlights or crazy stories you will be sharing…give us a teaser? It involves a toilet roll, pumping waves, a flying doctor’s flight and a quick camp evacuation.
