Surfers for Climate is an Australian based registered charity dedicated to turning the tide on climate change!
Founded in 2019 by Byron locals Belinda Baggs and Johnny Abegg, SFC is making strides to articulate the importance of climate change to the very top politicians in parliament using the voice of the people.
Surfers for Climate take a creative approach, bringing several advantages to their fundraising efforts in and out of the water. Their initiatives are engaging and educational bringing like-minded individuals together to make a positive impact as a group.
Some of their great initiatives include; The popular Car Park Cinema which brings climate convos to towns all over Australia. Where guests can enjoy a number of epic films under the stars, learn about a bunch of solutions & how to not kook it on climate!
Surfers for Climate have also recently put together a Surf Trivia Tour of events. The Salty Brains trivia tour tests your general surf “gnarledge” while learning a heap about the basics of climate change and environmental action. Salty Brains is coming to a location near you:

Surfers for Climate will be a huge part of the Byron Bay Surf Festival this year. Taking part in several facets of the event and will be on hand with some members of their team and ambassadors for the long weekend.
